back to mexican food...

this has been our favorite spot in chicago ever since we first started having "meetings" with our manager...

great food, inspirational artwork, and a quarter machine with temporary tattoos...

needless to say, tony's food inspires us to go back to matt's house and watch on-demand all day long...

here's some crucial stats and reviews...

VHS or BUSHMILLS?

thankfully we won't have to make this decision while on tour supporting vhs or beta...

this past weekend in chicago we were given a CASE of bushmills "black bush" whiskey courtesy of cornerstone promotion...and yes, we will drink all 12 bottles on tour...no gifts to uncles or mature additions to the liquor cabinet this time...

this liquid courage will fuel our collective rock monster all across the country!!!

and in case you're interested, we'll be holding an online competition to see who can guess how long it takes us to finish the case...the winner gets a bottle of bushmills...wait, nope...the winner...receives...a congratulatory email from us...definitely...

thank you cornerstone and thank you ireland...

MEATPIT

Any carnivore who gets down to Austin for SXSW is REQUIRED by the meat gods to attend at least one round of Salt Lick BBQ.

Its BYOB, cash only, and if you know what you're doing, you order the unlimited-helping, "family style" mixed meat fiesta platter. Make sure you drink at least 4 beers with your meal and then sleep on the picnic tables outside afterwards. MEATSLEEP>>>>>

Burger Time

Ok so we aren't gonna post about tacos EXCLUSIVELY. Thus entry two: P. Terry's. Apparently, P. Terry read fast food nation and decided to open a burger joint that utilizes locally grown veggies and hormone-free meats. They also clean, cut, and cook their potatoes on the spot. Awesome veggie burgers.

SXSW 2008: Damn Good Tacos

Hands down this place fuckin killed it this year. We ate there like 7 times. I think its a brand new place. You can find it right on 6th street by Red River in downtown Austin.

We highly recommend the Green Chili Pork taco as seen here to the left.

The other jam was this month's special, "Mr. Pink". This guy had tuna, cabbage, red onion, cilantro, and a creamy chipotle salsa. RIDIC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Savory Life

BO JACKSON
Meet our van, Bo Jackson. He brings us to tacos all across the country. Occasionally he drops us off at venues where we "play shows".
Tigercity decided to spice up our van life with a taco blog. So here it is!
